Traditional 5 drawer box with added set bought in Prague.
Box (235x180x177mm) is Western. From red plywood with a sliding front. With a handsome handle but no ornaments. The drawers have wooden buttons.
Tiles (21x30x18mm) are Western. Made, through and through, of ivory colored so called French Bakelite (Casein). The engraving, probably western, is ambitious but ambiguous. There are 4 spare tiles.
Counters are strips of synthetic material in 4 colors.
Dice (4x) are made of synthetic material with Western points. Their Bakelite or Catalin holder is a small cup with a screw cap.
Wind discs are made of a synthetic material. Their box is a lower version of the dice holder.
Instruction manual is a German translation of an English book called ‘Spielen Sie Noch Nicht Mah Jongg?‘. By Olga Rachter. 1st edition 1924.
