Multi-colored Babcock tin box.
Box (168x203x68mm) is probably Chinese. The text ‘Made in China’ may just as well relate to the content. The tin box (Patent April 3, 1923) is printed all around with tiles and Babcock promotion (like the booklet underneath). The lid opens to the right. Inside are compartments for tiles and counters et cetera.
Tiles (21x31x11mm) are Chinese. The good bamboo is well engraved. Bamboo 1 is primitive. There are no spare tiles.
Counters are made of bone with western denomination.
Dice (4x) are made of bone with Chinese points. Their holder is a Cricket box.
Wind discs are made of black horn. Their holder is a Ming box of black horn.
Instruction manual is Babcock’s booklet.. The 2nd Dutch edition, November 1924, by The Continental Mah Jongg Sales Co. There are also a score card.
