Counters

A Mah Jongg set contains the following amount of counters: per person 2x 500p, 9x 100p, 8x 10p and 10x 2p. Sometimes there are 4 extra 10p counter too. At the time they were made of bone or bamboo. Nrs 2. and 5. are made in America in the twenties. Nr 5. is one of the many fake Chinese coins.

1. Complete set bamboo (62mm length). € 30,-.

2. Complete set sturdy cardboard  (70mm length) with one 2p. counter added. Almost identical to those of Hillson’s 8. € 20,-.

3. Complete set bone (66mm length) with Chinese points End 20th century and unused. € 30,-.

4. Complete set bone (69mm length) with Chinese, red and (exceptional) green points. About 1950 and unused. € 35,-.

5. Incomplete set octagonal (30mm) metal, rather flaked off counters with 10 (21x green), 50 (22x yellow), 100 (25x red), 500 (22x blue) and 1000 (8x white) points. Made by/for the Mah-Jongg co. € 30,-.
