Thin cardboard 5-drawer box with full color Mandarin.
Box (200x130x70mm) is European (maybe even Dutch?). Made of thin cardboard covered with black paper printed with golden ‘Chinese’ images. On top a label is pasted. Depicting a Mandarin and, vertical, mah jongg. Inside are 4 trays for the tiles and 4 small trays for counters etc.
Tiles (20x30x8mm) are Western. Made of blank, unvarnished wood. Printed in three colors with characters and graphics. The West wind also shows the French O of Ouest. The color green has faded a lot.
Counters are crude strips of colored wood.
Dice (2x) are made of black wood with golden Western points.
There are no wind indicators and instruction manual.
There is however an indication of the date of the set: on the inside of the lid is a handwritten text in Dutch referring to 1929.
