Traditional 5 drawer box with unusual grips.
Box (248x159x172mm) is Chinese, Japanese or Korean. Made of attractive, darkish rosewood.
With a replaced and there for unadorned sliding front. The box doesn’t have copper ornaments except for the two lotus like rests for the exceptional grips.
Tiles (22x29x13mm) are Chinese. They are made, through and through, of dark yellow Bakelite or Catalin. Showing some small fissures. The engraving, especially of the seasons, is of good quality. There are four spare tiles.
Counters are of sturdy though rough and somewhat dirty bone with Western denomination.
Dice (4x) are made of bone with Chinese points.
Their holder is a Cricket box.
Wind discs are made of bone with green characters. Their holder is a bone Ming cylinder.
The set has no instruction manual.
