Pagoda. 5-drawer box pasted with marbled paper.
Box (228x140x85mm) is Western. Made of cardboard pasted with pink, marbled, textured paper. Printed with images of a Chinese pagoda and Bamboos 8 and 1. The lid has been slightly repaired. Inside there are four trays for the tiles and four small trays for counters, dice and wind indicators.
Tiles (21x29x12mm) are made of quality wood with on top a thin layer of a synthetic material printed with clear characters and images. The corners are rounded. There belong no spare tiles to the set.
Counters are thin strips of celluloid.
Dice are made of bone with with Western points.
Wind discs are made of celluloid. Their holder is a Ming box made of celluloid with a French Ivory pattern.
Instruction manual is the red Babcock’s Rules booklet. 10th printing 1923.
