The Ancient Chinese Game.
Tin-plate set in flat square box.
One of my most expensive sets.
Box (210x179x45mm) is American. Made of cardboard covered with black paper with a pasted
on label. Inside there is room for tiles, counters and dice.
Tiles (20x25x13mm) are little, tin-plate boxes. The top is ivory colored and printed with characters and pictures. The bottom is copper colored with on the sides a suggestion of dove tails. There belong no spare tiles to the set. Mistake: the Characters for
6 and 9 are reversed.
Counters are painted, tin-plate strips. About forty strips per color.
Dice (2x) are made of bone with Western points.
There belong no wind indicators to the set.
Instruction manual is a belonging, undated booklet. Also enclosed is a packing slip offering advice and service.
